RSVSR Black Ops 7 Poison Pill Tips for Every Reward
Season 3 of Black Ops 7 has given players plenty to chase, but Endgame mode is where the real work starts. Operation Poison Pill isn’t some quick side task you knock out in one evening. It’s a long chain with ten steps, and every one of them has to be cleared in order. That’s what makes the rewards feel earned. If you’ve already been jumping between contracts, squad wipes, and the usual map grind, you’ll notice this mission line asks for more focus. Some players are even using things like BO7 Bot Lobby sessions to smooth out the early farming, but even then, the later stages still demand smart runs, decent gear, and a team that doesn’t fall apart the second Zone III gets ugly.
How the early steps actually play
The first few objectives are pretty manageable. You’re mostly staying in Zone I, learning the route, stacking simple progress, and getting used to checking the Tac Map all the time. Guild Checkpoints, Guild Drops, scorestreak use, nothing too wild yet. It’s the sort of stuff you can clear while warming up, and that’s probably the point. The game gives you enough to keep moving without throwing you into chaos right away. Rewards like the Poison Pill Weapon Charm and Restore Tokens aren’t huge flex items, sure, but they help. More importantly, they ease you into the structure of the operation, which matters later when every mistake starts costing time and plates.
Where the mission starts pushing back
By Step 5, the tone changes. You’re no longer coasting through safe objectives. Zone II opens things up, and before long Zone III starts asking real questions. HVTs become part of the routine, and Fear enemies turn into a nuisance fast if your squad isn’t landing clean shots. Step 7 is where a lot of teams stall out. One hundred critical kills on Fear enemies sounds simple on paper, but in a live run it drags. Then you’ve still got an Elite to finish. This is where weapon choice matters a lot more than people admit. A build that feels fine in normal runs can suddenly feel useless when you’re under pressure. The rewards in this section, like Double Weapon XP and the Toxic Entry Decal, are decent, but most players are still looking ahead.
The Zone IV wall
Step 8 and Step 9 are where Operation Poison Pill earns its name. Zone IV doesn’t let you relax for a second. You’re chasing Elite kills, dealing with World Events, and trying not to burn through resources too early. Then comes the Link Forger Glitch step, which is easily the part everyone talks about after a run. First you need to bring down Oscar, the Strike Boss. Only then does the Glitch open, and that’s not the end of it. Inside, the Glitch Boss is waiting, and the fight hits hard if your team goes in messy. This is the point where positioning, revives, ammo discipline, all that boring stuff people ignore early on, suddenly decides whether the run lives or dies.
Why players keep grinding it
The payoff is strong enough that people keep coming back. Clear the final steps with Anderson, Mason, or Grimm and you unlock their Override skins, each one tied to the operator you finish with. If you stick with it and collect all three, you get the Virulent Camo, which honestly looks like one of the better rewards this season. It’s got that rare feeling of being worth the trouble. For players who want a smoother path through the season’s harder content, there are always extra options outside the game loop too.
